Ourlads' 2025 NFL Mock Draft 4.0
Updated: 04/23/2025 10:14AM ET
* Denotes Underclassmen
QB,
Miami
HT: 6020 | WT: 223 |
StatsJust as we said in Ourlads Mock 1.0, Ward is the top quarterback in this class and most likely candidate to take over under center for Brian Callahan’s offense. Tennessee has not had a 3,000 yard passer since 2021; also the last time they finished with more than seven wins.
CB/WR,
Colorado
HT: 6010 | WT: 185 |
StatsThe re-signing of All-Pro Myles Garrett in addition to the signings of multiple depth pieces for the edge group made this two-player decision a bit easier. Even then, Hunter is the one prospect truly deserving of the “generational” label and his multiple usages (on both sides of the ball) puts his potential in rare territory.
DE,
Penn State
HT: 6030 | WT: 252 |
StatsOwner John Mara’s words following the conclusion of the 2024 season, “tired of seeing teams go up and down the field on us” ring true in my head when thinking about this pick. An organization that has had multiple Super Bowl winners that fed off the pass rush will look at Carter and see the bridge to where they want to be and where they currently are.
RB,
Boise State
HT: 5090 | WT: 215 |
StatsThe first curveball of the draft, as many assume offensive line here but the lack of value at that spot and the fact Jeanty has fans in the building brings us here. Drake Maye in 2024 and Jeanty in 2025 gives the organization the backbone of this offense for the next decade. An offense that was bottom three in scoring each of the past two seasons.
DT,
Michigan
HT: 6030 | WT: 320 |
StatsAnother pick we have had at Jacksonville for Mock 1.0 in January, Graham simply makes too much sense especially with the new leadership in place. General Manager James Gladstone just watched rookie defensive linemen change the personality of the Rams defense two straight years and Graham immediately becomes their top difference maker inside on a front desperate for it.
WR,
Arizona
HT: 6050 | WT: 212 |
StatsTrade for Geno Smith? Check. Sign Geno Smith? Check. Supply him with weapons? TBD. With Jeanty off the board, the next best thing is a possession receiver with size and elite ball skills that do not come around often. McMillan immediately gives this passing game a third option which should help keep some of the attention off All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers.
TE,
Penn State
HT: 6060 | WT: 261 |
StatsA repeat from Mock 1.0, Warren fits the ethos of this new offensive scheme and new quarterback. Warren opens the door to a variety of options and with Justin Fields under center, this has the potential to be a ton of fun to watch. The Mackey Award winner can be the contested catch guy on third and manageable, a short yardage wildcat quarterback, and move-tight end who can align anywhere. He is simply a tough guy to plan for.
DE,
Texas A&M
HT: 6060 | WT: 290 |
StatsThere was a debate in our building and there will be a debate in their building. Stewart or Georgia’s Jalon Walker? Stewart’s ability to apply quick pressure in combination with the gap in traits between the two gives him the nod. Stewart next to Jadeveon Clowney makes sense in several ways and puts this defense, the worst in football last season, back on track with an identity.
CB,
Michigan
HT: 6020 | WT: 202 |
StatsThe 2024 season was not friendly to Johnson. An injury limited him to just six games and had a very quiet pre-draft process that did not include a forty. The gray area was created but there is more than enough quality tape against quality competition with a playmaking skill set to warrant the idea he can still be a number one corner in the NFL. There may not be a cornerback room in the league worse than what New Orleans is currently putting out.
OT,
LSU
HT: 6060 | WT: 323
The holes on the roster have been filled and Ryan Poles will be able to enter draft weekend with a pure best player available approach. Campbell gets the nod over Armand Membou because of how clean his tape is despite less-than-ideal size. Campbell is an elite athlete who can project to multiple spots but unlike Membou, he is proven on the left side.
DT,
Mississippi
HT: 6030 | WT: 305 |
StatsThis is an organization that values quick pressure as much as any organization in football. This is according to them and previous post-draft press conferences they’ve had. Nolen is an ideal solution for the gaping hole they have inside. San Francisco has lost as much roster-punch as any team league-wide and getting back to a strong unit up front can steady the ship.
WR,
Texas
HT: 6000 | WT: 195 |
StatsCB,
Texas
HT: 5110 | WT: 200 |
StatsThe second straight Longhorn to go is the top defensive back in this draft based on who you speak with. Getting him at 13 overall in the same offseason you lose your starting safety and you’re about to trade your top player in the group (Jalen Ramsey) is a gift. The desire for a playmaker or lineman will be tempting but this is, by far, the best football decision.
OT,
Missouri
HT: 6030 | WT: 325
Because of how this draft class is constructed, there will be a surprise faller or two in the top half of the first round. Membou could make a strong case for a handful of teams above (as high as New England at four overall). Here is the basement. Indianapolis can use him at guard in year one where he can give them another elite road grader while developing his play speed for the outside in the near future.
DE,
Georgia
HT: 6050 | WT: 265 |
StatsThere are two routes they can go to solve their edge rusher problem and they both come from the same program. Williams has the size, inside-out versatility, and strong edge setting ability that gets him the nod. For what they have in the building currently, he is the ideal complement.
WR,
Missouri
HT: 5110 | WT: 205 |
StatsTwo straight years of using their first on a receiver goes against some economic laws but this passing game is not producing what they need following Kyler Murray’s contract extension. Burden is a different kind of weapon who will offer yard-after-catch explosives which creates tremendous balance within their air attack.
DE,
Marshall
HT: 6040 | WT: 248 |
StatsThe top non-Power Four prospect has flashed enough against his top competition both during the season and at the Senior Bowl. Green has bend and sneaky power to give Cincinnati another building block as they prepare for the inevitable departure of Trey Hendrickson in the next year or two.
OT,
Texas
HT: 6040 | WT: 320
The lack of activity along the interior of their offensive line after entering the offseason as it being their glaring top need creates this must-do for the team draft weekend. Fortunately,, half of the top tackles in the class project better inside and there won’t be a lot of linemen off the board by this time.
CB,
Mississippi
HT: 6010 | WT: 190 |
StatsOne of the more polarizing players in the draft, Amos produced and ended the year hot in 2024. He has as much momentum as any corner in the class with his surprisingly impressive pre-draft process. Tampa Bay has not stabilized the weak point of their defense yet, the cornerback room.
RB,
North Carolina
HT: 6000 | WT: 220 |
StatsSean Payton going running back almost seems too obvious and his best offenses in New Orleans had no-name backs. But he did use a first round pick on a running back twice during his tenure there and Hampton gives him a strong, physical chain mover which he values a lot because of how much he plans to play with a lead.
QB,
Colorado
HT: 6020 | WT: 215 |
StatsJust three years after choosing Kenny Pickett in this area of the first round, Mike Tomlin gives the thumbs up to a guy that still has a credible shot at being a top ten pick. While Aaron Rodgers slow-plays the team, Sanders actually fits in well with what they like to do at the position. Accuracy, poise, and ball control. He won’t have too much pressure put on him right away and he goes to a team that values the offensive line as much as anyone.
TE,
Michigan
HT: 6050 | WT: 245 |
StatsThere are still some who believe this is the top tight end in the class and one of the top overall playmakers. The reunion with Harbaugh can make this seem a little too obvious but if it weren’t him, it would be another Wolverine in Kenneth Grant. Los Angeles has not had a tight end with over 20 catches and 10 yards per catch since 2021 (Jared Cook).
WR,
Ohio State
HT: 6010 | WT: 205 |
StatsThe trend is broken. The last time Green Bay used a first round on a wide receiver, hybrid vehicles were becoming a thing (2002 - Javon Walker). They are done messing around with day two and middle round projects as it is a group that has held back Jordan Love. Egbuka was the pick in Mock 1.0 and he ends as the pick in 4.0.
S,
Georgia
HT: 6010 | WT: 205 |
StatsThis selection was debated for quite some time but Starks is by far the top graded player available but his position lacks value. The loss of Camryn Bynum and Harrison Smith’s career coming to an end soon (as soon as next offseason) gives the team their next field general in Starks.
OT,
Minnesota
HT: 6060 | WT: 330
There is a lot of instability along the front in Houston. Ersery may not have a spot locked up right away but having solutions up front before the problems appear are a great way to get the most out of the young franchise quarterback. Ersery is one of the most physically gifted linemen in the class and he is earlier on the progression curve than most.
ILB,
Alabama
HT: 6030 | WT: 244 |
StatsThe front office has hit homeruns in consecutive drafts to build the defensive side of the ball as Mattheew Stafford approaches the end of his career with the team. This approach adds another versatile weapon that could put them over the edge along with evolving players at the other two levels of the defense to create an elite ceiling.
LB,
Georgia
HT: 6020 | WT: 245 |
StatsWalker was a thought at number eight overall and here he is, available toward the end of night one. While this may not be the most pressing need for the club, this is a scheme Walker’s role fits in well. Once Kyle Van Noy is done (as soon as next year), Walker could easily slide right in while giving them another situational weapon in year one.
OG,
Alabama
HT: 6050 | WT: 325
Another prospect with a wide range of potential landing spots (including teams in the top 15), Booker fits into the ethos of what Detroit wants up front as much as any team in the draft. The massive power blocker will compete for a week one job at right guard and keeps feeding the beast that has been created under Dan Campbell who will resort to his roots.
CB,
East Carolina
HT: 6030 | WT: 193 |
StatsAn aggressive offseason has landed several weapons on the offensive side of the ball and usable assets along the defensive front. One thing Dan Quinn has not yet gotten his hands on yet is a playmaking cornerback and Revel, who tore his ACL early last season, has shown enough to be that guy who could be a Trevon Diggs because of the size, speed, and ball skill combination of traits.
DT,
Oregon
HT: 6050 | WT: 310 |
StatsHarmon’s best tape is up there with the top defensive front players in this class. At his size with his foot speed, it was likely a sign of things to come after an uneventful start to his career at Michigan State. Buffalo lacks a physical identity along their interior line and Harmon is their week one starter next to Ed Oliver.
OT,
Oregon
HT: 6040 | WT: 315
One of the twitchiest offensive linemen in the class, Conerly gives this team a third option for the two tackle spots that are on shaky ground. Even if he needs to wait a year when Jawaan Taylor could end up a roster cut, Conerly’s upside is worth trying to develop to help ensure they do not run into left tackle issues again during the Mahomes era.
DT,
Michigan
HT: 6030 | WT: 339 |
StatsWhile they may prefer an edge at this spot, Grant is the guy that fell in this first round and this is an organization that will not pass on a talent like this. His power, size, and speed give them another rotational piece to keep their trenches elite and game-controlling.
