Four-year starter. All-Big 10 honorable mention this past season, Third-team All-America in 2023. Undersized corner prospect with solid arm length. Loose lower half and quick feet help him drop to his deep zone while keeping his eyes on potential threats. Patient in off-man and closes space to get in-phase quickly. Can flip and turn with receivers to carry them downfield. Loose hips help him stick with receivers on sharp breaks. Start-stop ability allows him to flip around and change direction quickly to protect his zone. Eye-popping ball production with ten interceptions and 28 pass breakups throughout his career. Strong ball tracking skills; puts himself in position regularly to play the ball in the air. Boxes out receivers and swats passes out of the air to force incompletions. Not afraid to throw his body into receivers to force them to the dirt. Willing to come up and get involved in run support. May benefit moving inside to nickel with outside corner versatility. Outside releases get him to open up prematurely. From deep zones can get hyper-fixated on the receiver in front of him and miss deep threats behind him. Needs to cut out coverage busts. Recovery speed is a step slow. Feet can get stuck in the ground trying to transition downhill creating hiccups. Against higher level competition he leaves a huge cushion making it difficult to trigger and allowing for easy completions. Tackling technique needs improvement to bring down targets more efficiently. Light frame makes it difficult to shed blocks.
