Three-year starter. Transfer from North Carolina State prior to the 2025 season. First-team All-America and All-Big 10 this past season. Played most commonly at deep safety with significant snaps also in the box and nickel. One of the smartest safeties in the draft who recognizes route concepts right off the bat. Patient in coverage while diagnosing the play and won't overcommit. Excellent at reading his keys and reacts accordingly to different play designs. Formidable middle-field player with range to act as a sideline-to-sideline player in one-high schemes. Quality athlete who moves around the field with quick feet, agility, and loose hips. Plays with his head on a swivel to identify and cover up multiple threats at once shallow and downfield while eyeing the quarterback. Will undercut throws when he sees the egg cracked. In off-man reads hips and reacts rapidly on the break to get in-phase. Triggers on screens instantly to blow them up in the backfield. Extraordinary ball skills; tracks the ball downfield like a hawk and gets in the throwing lane to come away with interceptions. Gets his hands in the cookie jar to rip out passes at the catchpoint. Rarely misses tackle in space with proper form and low pad level. Keeps his feet moving on contact to limit additional yards. Can get boxed out by bigger receivers and allow contested catches. Strength deficiencies and length deficiencies show up when attempting to battle with bigger targets. Can get pushed around in the box and out of his gap responsibility. Angles in space need significant work; allows ball carriers to outrun him to the perimeter often.
