Two year starter. Started every game the past two seasons. Gained 30 pounds of quality weight in his time at Notre Dame and is still growing. Had a good showing at the Combine. Long framed with a strong upper body, his athleticism and good feet allow him to comfortably climb to the second level. Shows a strong punch that forces defensive linemen to restart their motor. Has a good reach which plays to his strength as a finesse player. Shows quality hands and punch, grasps the defender on the snap. Shows strong recovery. Football IQ is high, communicates well with guards and centers to recognize stunts and blitzes. Always working hard to get to the second level. Shows pop in his punch and recoil in pass protection normally keeping a solid base. Has flashed the ability to adjust and pick up stunts. Needs to clean up his footwork and let things flow naturally. Plays a bit high which slows down his side to side movement. Could use additional weight on his frame to help him anchor down against next level size and power. Needs to finish plays and continue through the whistle. Could use more rhythm to his punch and strike in setting up pass protection. Needs to get his feet under him to more easily mirror the defender. Plays for position and not as much overpowering. Could use more knee bend. Continues to show steady improvement. Upside is there, needs to grow into the next level tackle position. He should improve with more snaps at the next level.
