Two-year starter. Began his career at Memphis as a cornerback and special teamer where he ended up injuring his shoulder and barely seeing the field. Transferred to Florida International in 2023 where was named an All-American, the first in program history. Rivers then transferred to Georgia Tech in 2025 where he ended as the team's leading receiver. As undersized as he is, he was a credible deep threat who lined up outside for the vast majority of his snaps. He was targeted downfield often. The quick acceleration and aggressive nature he attacks the ball with were among the key traits that allowed him to play bigger than his size. His lack of size is concerning because he is not a pure burner with dangerous speed, but his short area burst gives him a fighting chance to be more than a typical undersized slot receiver. Sudden stop and go quickness puts pressure on man coverage instantly. Does a nice job of delaying his route intention and staying unpredictable. Separation comes naturally to him no matter what route he runs. Explodes out of his breaks and comes back to the ball in attack-mode. Strong and sturdy for his frame. Can break tackles and create with both movement and toughness. Lacks the radius to give the passer a margin of error. Hard to find space in contested situations. Hands are small and has had too many drops, notably in 2024. Did not run a high variety of routes weekly. Needs to be more precise underneath as his pad level tends to raise too much.
