Three year starter. Second-team All-SEC in 2025. Compact frame with decent power for his size. Lacks ideal size but can play bigger than he is. Athletic high energy leader of the Tide defense. Plays a stack position with some overhang. Once he sees his key he’s quick to react downhill or scrape off-tackle. Will take open windows and can make plays in the backfield. Is effective slipping blocks on the move with quick hands limiting a blockers’ ability to get in his frame. Attacks lead blockers with inside shoulder scraping off tackle and is effective constricting running lanes. Can mirror a running back on cutbacks with elite agility. Has speed to chase to the perimeter and can make plays in space. Gets good depth in pass drops and finds the throwing lane creating quarterback indecision. Has a burst reacting on short underneath throws. Can match backs on wheel routes and stay with a receiver up the seam. Has been an effective blitzer with timing to hit gaps and chase in the backfield. Flashes fundamental tackling skill to gather, wrap and drive through tackles. Inconsistent tackling shows up occasionally leaving his feet and lunging. Run fits are inconsistent as he will misread the blocking scheme and lose ball side leverage. Struggles with straight up blocks from interior linemen and can be washed out by angle blocks. Will take a bad angle at times and get on the wrong side of a climbing blocker working off-tackle. Will give up yards after contact to a powerful ball carrier. He could use some more bulk without losing his quickness and agility. Has three down potential as a Will linebacker and should have special team value.
