Three year starter. Honorable mention All-ACC in 2025. Has been a starter at three different schools starting at Division II West Chester in 2022 as a redshirt freshman. Transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2023 and Miami in 2025. Was considered the prize defensive lineman of the portal. Solid frame for the interior with a strong upper body. Has experience on the nose as a 0 and 1 along with 3 and 2 technique reps. Quick at the snap he shows power engaging and shooting his hands into blockers. Plays at a low pad level and is very tough to block one on one. Gets ball side leverage and can stack and shed blocks to make plays on the line. He's been effective splitting double teams and disrupting combo blocks. His ability to hold the point has been a factor allowing linebackers to flow to the ball. He gets penetration on slant moves and can chase down plays in the backfield. At Miami with the incredible pass rush skill of many defensive linemen, Blay was primarily a rotational player on run downs. That said, at Louisiana Tech he flashed solid pass rush skill on gap moves using a quick punch and stab and club move to get free. His ability to reload if blocked gave him second effort sacks and pressure. At times can get upright and stalled out working off a block. He needs to improve his overall pass rush technique as he was a non-factor in that area at Miami. He has more pass rush upside than his production indicates, especially if you study Louisiana Tech tape. He has the upside of a rotational interior defender in the NFL.
