Three-year starter. Spent the 2024 season with Mississippi before transferring back to the reigning national champions. Second-team All-America and first-team All-Big 10 this past season. Instinctual pass defender with vision to see the whole field from one-high alignments. Considerable range over the top that helped him succeed as a one-high defender. Very loose hips and low center of gravity help him change direction seamlessly. Underneath he is able to carry passing threats while visioning the quarterback. Solid click-and-close when breaking on receivers underneath him. Uses quarterback eyes and intentions to jump passes and come away with interceptions. Wide receiver background shows up in his ball skills. Willing to get down and dirty in the trenches versus run. Toughness when taking on blocks and will throw his body into receivers to create knockback. Works his way through traffic in the trenches to make his way to the backfield. Eager tackler who has shown the ability to finish both in the box and open field with his violence and discipline. Able to contort his body to make tackles from difficult angles. Disciplined angles and rarely allows runners to out-leverage him on the perimeter. Possesses a smaller frame lacking length with notably short arms. Closing speed can be a step slow when plastering to receivers downfield. Length deficiencies make it difficult to shed and get off blocks. Fringe strength shows up when making tackles; ball carriers can shrug him off due to this and aforementioned length. Occasionally widens his base and plants his feet when tackling causing him to get run over. Will be 25 years old when drafted.
2025 Stats: 88 T, 2.5 TFL, 4 PBU, 6 INT. Draft projection: 4th/5th round
