One year starter. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2025. Was named Defensive MVP of the 2026 Shrine Bowl. Transferred from Louisville in 2025 after missing the entire 2024 season with an injury. Was a backup rotational player prior to that. Tall, somewhat slender frame with decent length. Primarily played a wide 9 in a two point stance but at times aligned in a 5 or 6 technique in a 4 point stance. Plays with a hot motor chasing plays until the whistle. Normally shows a quick first step exploding off the inside foot. Shows pop with his hands on initial strike getting inside on the numbers to separate. Can set the edge versus tight ends and chase to the sideline. Effective on inside stunts disrupting blocking schemes and collapsing the pocket. Has been used occasionally in coverage getting depth and using length to close the throwing lane. Mostly used to rush the passer, he's improved greatly in technique and still has upside. First step usually gets him upfield in a hurry and he has above average bend to turn the corner. Has effectively used chops, hand swipes, and a push pull into a move to get free. Shows a club and swim move as an inside counter that has put him in the face of quarterbacks. Can be explosive tackling but lacks consistent gather and tends to be high. Can be out of control and has whiffed on some big plays missing tackles in the backfield. Missed tackle percentage is too high. Shows an occasional false step on get off. Gets tall on blocks at times and locked out of the play. Lacks power to take on pullers consistently. Will need refinement and could use more bulk. Has the potential of a quality rotational edge rusher.
