Two year starter. Has been a Cowboy since taking his redshirt in 2021. In 2024 earned second-team All-Mountain West. Didn't play football until his senior year in high school. A tall, lean athlete with outstanding tight end traits. Explosive probably best describes him. Statistically had a down senior year, in no small part to being limited to just playing in five games because of a hamstring injury. Shows excellent upfield speed, and owns the seams. Has one attribute that can't be coached, vertical catch radius due to his height. Plays his best when on the move with various motions. shows good yards after the catch. As a route runner he is generally solid on out and crossing routes. Makes tough catches at times flashing his catch radius. Boxes out defenders with his big body. Gets yards accelerating after the catch. Can play in many spots, but excels as a move guy. Blocks well in space with his long reach. Needs to add bulk to be able to sustain blocks. Needs to tighten up his route running. Crisper and in and out of cuts. Needs to catch the ball more consistently. Must work on getting the defender's hands off of him. Injuries have held him back and he hasn't reached the production his skill set should dictate. He should be a real competitor for a third tight end position spot on an NFL roster. If he's healthy, he can be a solid option at tight end.
