Two year starter. Transferred from Alabama in 2024 where he played two seasons in 2022-2023. Prior to Alabama he spent one year at Hutchinson CC. A rangy frame with marginal length. A resourceful talented tight end, who understands his role and exploited defenses in college. Has a big toolbox as a receiving tight end with a wide receiver route tree. Has good footwork and makes sharp cuts to separate from man coverage. Adept at deep over and dig routes and has enough speed to get beyond the linebackers on seam routes. Knows when to sit on routes over the middle and is effective at finding openings in zone coverage. Normally sure handed he battles at the catch point and can make catches in traffic. He shows strength as an in-line blocker. Has a strong anchor and plays behind his hands in pass protection. Uses his hands well in steering defenders. Has been effective as a lead blocker off motion. Keeps his feet moving on contact and is consistent to stay with blocks. Has very average straight ahead speed. Doesn't have recovery foot quickness. High pad level affects his ability to drive defenders back. Yards after the catch are hard to come by. Had more drops than usual this past season. Has trouble separating from defenders playing trail technique. His tape shows an interesting and talented player with a wide range of skills. To play in a run-oriented offense as an attached tight end might best suit his talents. He figures on the third day and could find a role as a number three tight end.
2025 Stats: 26-253, 9.7 ypr, 2 TD. OSR:19/19. VJ-34.5. Draft projection: 5th/6th round
