Four year starter who is coming off of an ACL injury. Started his collegiate career at Nevada, starting 35 of 36 games. Having just completed his fifth year at Oregon, he continues to trend upwards and appears to be handling the jump in levels. Played against some stiff competition in the Big 10. Appears to be a very coachable athlete. A tall prospect with advantages of height and reach. This coupled with tremendous work ethic gives him an advantage as he grows into a professional player. His strength is currently as a pass blocker while still developing on the run blocking side of the ball. His reach should present problems for edge rushers. Delivers a solid blow when punching out. Shows excellent coordination and overall body control. His coordination is no small part due to his basketball background. Appears to have a good understanding of his scheme versus what the defense is doing. He sees what the defense presents him in recognizing blitz packages. Needs to continue to develop his skills in run blocking. Must avoid some needless penalties. Like most taller tackles, he needs to lower his pad level and work on his hand placement. Needs to continue to develop his tool box at the highest level. Needs continued growth and strength, particularly with limited playing time at the highest level. Needs to be watched as his skills continue to be refined. Could develop into a key blind side protector at the next level. An ideal developmental talent, with both his physical and mental acumen in his hip pocket.
