Three year starter. Honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2025. Tall somewhat slender frame with above average length. Has the frame to add some bulk. Has an athletic profile with smooth change of direction skill with twitch in a short area to go with long speed in chase mode. Excellent read and react he has a feel for inside gaps and is quick reacting to a key. Agility shows up reacting to cutbacks and misdirection. Attacks downhill and shows strike ability along with knee bend attacking blocks. Quick with punch he can lock out straight up blocks and find the ball. On the move has flashed ability to avoid or slip blocks to gain ball side leverage. Solid chase linebacker with sideline to sideline range. He normally takes the right angle and shows fundamental tackling skill. Adept at zone coverage he gets depth in his drop and reacts to threats to close the throwing lane. Reads the delivery key well and is quick reacting with the ball in the air. Can match and run the seam. Lacks ideal bulk and functional strength to consistently take on interior blockers. Will take an occasional bad angle and miss in space as a result. Doesn't always wrap up on tackles and missed tackle percentage is too high for a linebacker. Occasional hesitation on run fits gets him knocked out of a play. Limited impact as a pass rusher as he lacks technique working against a block. Has had injury issues the last two seasons that will have to be evaluated. There are holes in his game but his solid size and athletic ability will be attractive to NFL teams. He should fit in sub packages and special teams as he develops.
