Three year starter. With 37 collegiate starts, he is a four time Academic All-Big 10 selection. A huge physical prospect that the next level scouts are looking for. A good striker at the snap off the ball he's quick getting his hands into blockers. When properly placed, his low pad level makes him a tough man to get around. Shows a stout anchor and powerful hands. Does a solid job of grabbing inside cloth and controlling the defender. Effective in pass protection with a kick slide that generally keeps the pocket clean. Knocks people around in the run game with upper and lower body power aided by leg drive. A smart player who seems to be able to understand what the defense is sending him. Reliable hands in the hand fighting portion of the game. His first step is long, but overall he seems to lack the athleticism needed for consistent zone-blocking success. A bit sluggish from time to time, this hurts his ability to handle speed rushers. Footwork quickness will be a skill to learn. While his lower pad level is a plus, his inconsistency in keeping that pad level is a minus. Pass protection is a work in progress, but a 6080, 320 tackle is worth schooling to teach this skill. Experienced at both tackle positions. While pretty solid in getting rusher up the field, seems susceptible to counter inside moves. Patience is a key to his development. There is a ton of potential and it should be worth taking the time to develop his upside.
