Two year starter. First-team All-MAC and second-team AP All-American in 2025. Well built frame with ideal dimensions for an inside linebacker. Highly productive, he was second in FBS in tackles in 2024 and 2025. Set an NCAA career record for forced fumbles with 17. Old school downhill thumper who makes plays from alley to alley. Patient with initial read, but when he sees it has incredible ability to quickly react to blocking schemes. Plays with a hot motor and attacks blocks with strong hands to stun and separate. Can shed on the move, hardly breaking stride at times. Adept at scraping off tackle tight to the line often beating blockers to the play. Gets downhill and locates the ball up and down the line. Very good short space agility reacting laterally to cutbacks and counters. Adept at finding open windows and making plays in the backfield. Has been productive blitzing with several tackles for a loss and sacks. Explodes into tackles, sinking his hips and driving through ball carriers. Very low missed tackle percentage. Reads run pass well and is an aware short space zone defender, passing off crossers and finding the throwing lane. Lacks the speed to be a major factor in coverage and he struggles if asked to cover a back on a wheel route. Man coverage skills are lacking on any extended route. His range in pursuit wanes as plays move outside. His instincts get him to a lot of plays before they get wide, but if a back can turn the corner he's not the best in chase mode. His quickness and agility make up for lack of extended speed and he can find a home as at least a two down run stuffing linebacker.
