Texas | Hometown: Danville, CA | HT: 6042 | WT: 245 | 40 time: 4.62 | Hand: 0912 | Arm: 3118 | Wing: 7634
Three year starter. Transferred from California in 2025. As a walk-on at California, following a red-shirt year, he caught 91 passes and four touchdowns over the next two seasons. Was Fernando Mendoza's go-to receiver at Cal. Started every game over his last two years. Long and athletic with a huge catch radius. Shows a good football IQ. Can play as in-line tight end or detached, although being away from the line frees up his releases. Plays with late hands, which is a huge advantage over defenders. Quick with hands to make tough catches in tight spots. Goes up and gets the ball. Makes plays in opportunistic times. Shows the speed to run the seam routes and get open. While on the move, engages the defender as a lead blocker. Plays well as a move H back showing a good quick burst off the snap. Flashes ability to block in space with sealing off linebackers. Inconsistent hands in making clean grabs. Needs to lower pads and sink his hips blocking in the run game. Improving his base could lead to a better win rate as a blocker. Punch is lacking, needs to jolt defender back. Needs to develop his yards after the catch ability. Overall nastiness needs to be developed to play in-line. Could use more upper body strength for the position. In the right system he could make a team as a receiving tight end option.
