Two year starter. Physically he fills in the doorway, so to speak, big bodied and tough to get around. Has desirable length for an interior blocker. Strong, athletic and quick for his size. Flashes knee bend which leads to a good strong anchor. Delivers a well-timed punch and can sustain blocks. Has strong hands which helps him force the defender to reestablish himself. Shows light feet, which helps him get off the ball with a surge. Has quickness and agility in the power plays, pulling and punishing linebackers. Has consistent leg drive which allows him to reestablish the line of scrimmage. Can be a mauler in the running game. Has the ability to root out those 1 and 3 techs. Works well in coordination with center on combination and scoop blocks. With his feet, hands and punch shows solid pass protection. He moves well showing a smooth kick slide and can adjust to inside moves and stunts. At times gets his weight over his knees. His base gets too narrow, which causes him to fall off in sustaining his block. Needs patience in setting up for pass protection. Sometimes opens the gate inside. Might need to shed a little weight, maybe depending on the scheme he is playing in. Needs to keep those big hands latched on the defender. Plays with consistent high pad level after popping up at the snap. Doesn't always recognize what the defense is giving him. Coming off a good Combine, where he showed explosiveness, he is a developmental prospect with good upside.
