Four year starter. Started 43 games in his career as a Longhorn. He was the only returning starter on the offensive line for Texas, so he took on the leadership for the group. A big, physical athlete, he's a classic people mover. An intelligent player who identifies what's happening in front of him, appears to have an excellent understanding of the game. Has good straight-ahead power and footwork, if a player is located on him it's easier work for him. Shows good core strength and a solid anchor. Blocks with leverage and bend on contact and can drive a defender off the ball. Has a good nose for downfield action, shows a good motor and eagerness to stick his nose in there. Has good arm length to help him match up with longer defensive linemen. Effectively handles bull rushers and plays with balance working on pass sets. Needs to work on his lateral mobility, as he relies on his strength more than his technique. Plays with heavy feet, which is evident when he pulls on the power as he struggles to get in front of the play. Not really quick across the ball when pulling. Hand placement in pass protection is a continued process to develop and may be his most glaring skill needing development. Can be a lunger to compensate for later deficiencies. Needs to improve his skills to continue to develop and match his football acumen. His arc as a player has risen every year in college, and should grow with new surroundings. Likely a third day choice, who if put in the right situation, will continue to ascend.
