Two year starter. Has made all his appearances at right tackle. Big body man with little guy foot speed. Long arms and athletic, his arm length exceeds the standard scouts are looking for. At the Combine, he moved as well as anyone, particularly at his size. Came to Texas A&M as a tight end trying to crack the lineup. This led to a position switch to right tackle, the change was successful. With his size, he seems to absorb defensive linemen. Appears to be ahead of the learning curve in his ability to pass block. Solid run blocking skills. For a big man, he keeps his butt down and his back flat. Needs to work on his punch and footwork. With his size, he will need to continue to work on knee bend and ultimately his anchor. His ability to pass protect is in question and is of concern. Additionally, he seems to attract many yellow flags. A raw candidate who will need to be developed by a patient coaching staff. Reps will be so valuable for his candidacy at the next level. In the right spot, his ceiling is very high. Needs to be drafted by the right team, who may not need immediate help at tackle, but with a keen eye on the future. Is basically inexperienced as a tackle and needs polish added to this big piece of clay. Has all the ingredients needed to succeed and develop into a starter in the NFL.
