Two-year starter. Converted tight end who moved to defense in 2023. Most commonly played on the edge in Florida's 30 fronts. Tall frame with a muscular midsection, and long arms and legs. Great explosiveness as he makes significant ground right off the snap. Excellent athlete who changes direction seamlessly in space with loose hips. Physical in run defense with violence on engagement and aggressiveness to hold his ground. Uses his long arms to create distance between himself and blockers, and sheds with notable hand usage and strength to disengage. Excellent foot speed with long strides to catch ball carriers from the backside of zone plays. Will fly into pullers to stop them in their tracks. Uses a couple polished moves to win in pass rush including a side-step into a rip, and a chop-and-rip move. Notable cornering ability to get around tackles and flip hips inside rapidly to close on the quarterback. Walks back tackles into the quarterback with considerable violence on contact and low pad level to stand them up. Solid zone coverage skills to pick up threats to his area and read the quarterback. Throws his frame into ball carriers to take them down successfully. Drops his head when taking on contact causing him to lose balance. Gets widened out on the edge with a fringe anchor. Slow crossing-face to slant. Can shoot his hands late allowing linemen to take advantage of his exposed chest. Needs to refine more pass moves and he gets stalled out often. Room for growth with only three years of playing the position full-time.
