One year starter but primarily a rotational player the last two seasons. Tall with a well-defined upper body, long arms, and a wide wingspan. Played from a 0 to 3 technique and spent a lot of time as a 1. Quick first step and strong hands can stun blockers initially. Normally plays with leverage and can forklift a straight up single block. Plays his gap consistently and can work off a block to make a play along the line. Solid lateral movement to get ball side leverage on inline pursuit. Has been effective on slant moves getting penetration and disrupting blocking schemes. Has been productive on tackle twists making plays at the line. Shows agility to re-direct off blocks and work back into the play. He makes most of his inline tackle opportunities with bend and finish. As a pass rusher he's mostly a push-collapse the pocket type rusher with little technique at this point. He can get a push and occasionally collapse the pocket but there's been very little production. Lacks a plan in his pass rush and has not shown much in the way of a variety of moves. Will fall off a tackle at times getting too high coming off a block. Can get knocked upright by a powerful blocker or a double team. Has been knocked off the ball if he loses leverage. He's been a solid player against the run for the most part, but needs development as a pass rusher. Has the upside of a rotational early down interior defender.
