Kentucky | Hometown: Lexington, KY | HT: 6040 | WT: 312 | 40 time: 4.94 | Hand: 1000 | Arm: 3258 | Wing: 7934
Four year starter. The fifth-year senior has made 47 consecutive starts, alternating between guard and center. Shows above average strength and body composition. Appears to be growing into the center position. Shows good get off while climbing to the second level. Has the foot speed and quickness to get to his aiming points at the second level and on screen passes. If they line up on him, he'll deliver a jolt. He fronts up the defender in the run game and can reach and seal a gap. Appears best suited for a zone scheme as he's effective with reach blocks. Gets the ball back to the quarterback with consistency and looks for work when uncovered in pass protection. Has shown fluidity and quickness in slide and one on one protection. Punch and mirror is above average. Has problems when the defender is working off his edge. Struggles with longer defensive tackles. Leans forward a bit too much. Needs to play with more strength. Plays to a stalemate too often. When on a reach in pass protection, he lacks balance and can get knocked around by powerful interior defenders. Needs continued development in pass protection. Appears to have the physical equipment and attitude to develop into a next level player. As a late pick or undrafted free agent, he has a chance to earn a spot on a club. All of this while he's still learning the nuances of playing center.
