Two-year starter. All-Big 12 in 2025. Virgil spent three seasons at Miami (OH) before leveling up to Texas Tech in 2025. Initially making a name for himself as a special teams' defender, he was a somewhat late developer at receiver but one who blossomed once the opportunity was put in front of him. Has a slightly above average combination of size and speed paired with an aggressive, physical approach to playing the position. The smooth and fluid lower half opens the door to him reaching a top speed that was clocked as the second fastest among receivers at the Senior Bowl. The development of his vertical routes and ball tracking have made him a credible deep threat who simply needs to tweak his intermediate ball skills to be a complete receiver with starter potential. Plays fast at all levels. Sudden out of his breaks and immediately post-catch. Maintains steady eyes as a downfield target. Stays grounded through the catch, maximizing his hands. Scored two touchdowns on his only two career carries. Has already proven to be a factor as a special teams' defender. Did not run a variety of routes. Needs to clean up his timing and pad level on short to intermediate in-breakers. Will often give hints at his final intention with a rounded path toward his destination. Lack of agility will make life difficult when trying to gain yards after the catch. Struggles to go down for the ball on misplaced passes below the waist.
