Two year starter. Wide body with ideal height, length and weight. Former defensive tackle who took reps there as a freshman. Converted to offense his sophomore year. Powerful inline blocker with a firm anchor and a balanced base. Strong at the point of attack with a powerful get off getting his hands into a defenders' frame. Has good knee and ankle flexion and can be explosive on initial strike. Effective as a drive blocker in one on one situations rarely losing run block battles. Can drive a defender off the line when he's squared up and locks on. Normally pulls well with decent quickness getting to off-tackle blocks or leading through the hole. Effective in pass protection as part of slide protection with the footwork to get a quick setup. Can knock a defender off balance with a powerful punch. Has improved ability to adjust and pick up stunts as a pass blocker. Looks for work if uncovered. Footwork can be a little slow while reacting to quick inline defenders in one on one situations. Punch and mirror has been inconsistent as he isn't always accurate with hands and agility is average. Doesn't always keep his feet moving and is subject to getting driven back in those instances. Can be slow reacting to gap moves and interior line stunts. Can over run defenders on outside pulls allowing penetration. Struggles blocking in space as quick defenders can out maneuver him the farther from the interior he gets. Wright has some limitations athletically but his positive traits should get him drafted on day three. With continued development in pass protection he can be a factor in the NFL.
