Four year starter with two at UTSA. Transferred to Texas in 2024. Solid frame with height and outstanding length. Versatile player who's aligned all over the Texas front, playing off the ball inside, on the edge and overhang. Athletic with agility, speed and quickness he plays with energy and a hot motor. Was used off-the-ball and moved to the edge in passing situations. Due to injuries, he played mostly inside linebacker towards the end of the season. Off the ball he's patient with read, uses a lateral shuffle reacting. Takes on blocks with ankle flexion and knee bend to go with a powerful strike. Hands can be violent to stun and shed. Rarely fooled on play action and cutbacks. At his best in pursuit with incredible range, he's adept at chasing down plays from behind. Has wrap and drive tackling skill. Quick getting into pass drops he gets depth and can match receivers up the seam. A developing zone defender he closes quickly with the ball in the air. On the edge he's primarily played a wide 9 and has been an effective pass rusher. He flashes a quick first step and has remarkable bend and speed turning the corner. Shows hand usage to swipe while also using a bull rush into a move. Was highly productive as a pass rusher at UTSA playing primarily on the edge. At times he takes a slight stutter step at the snap slowing his charge. Off the ball he's not a great downhill player and can be too deliberate in his read and give up some plays as a result. An NFL team will have to determine how best to use his versatility. Pass rush production was not as good against Power Four competition and he needs more in his arsenal.
