Three year starter. Third team All-Big 10 in 2025. Tall with a linear build, long arms and a plus wingspan. He's fundamentally sound from a three point stance with traditional inside hand down, inside foot back playing both sides of the line. Also aligned in a two point in a wide nine. Occasionally moved down to a 6 and 6i. Flashes snap quickness using his long arms and a powerful pop to gain immediate separation on blocks. Strong upper body and hands are effective controlling blockers using a push pull or stab and rip to get free. Moves well laterally and can re-direct off blocks to make plays inline or outside. Plays with hustle to the whistle and is always around the ball in chase mode. As a pass rusher shows a variety of ways to get to the quarterback and is adept at stacking moves with active hands. He uses hand swipes, stab and arm over, and a push pull into a rip. Also shows an effective spin move. Keeps the play alive even when blocked, has come off and made second effort sacks. While he flashes knee and ankle flexion, he can get upright on blocks and struggle to reset. If an athletic blocker stalls his rush he lacks a go to counter to quickly respond. Lacks consistent bend when tackling and has some misses in space against shifty ball carriers. Can get upright cornering in the pass rush and get washed out of the play. Snap quickness is inconsistent and he can get stuck on blocks as a result. Very limited in coverage to project to a 3-4 outside linebacker. He projects best to a 4-down defensive end.
