One year starter. Second team All-Big 10 in 2025. Became a starter at inside linebacker with the move of Jaishawn Barham to the edge. Muscular build with solid height but below average length. Played inside in a stack position from over the center to the tackle. Patient on initial read using downhill or lateral shuffle. Instinctive with generally accurate run fits. He's aggressive attacking a gap once he sees it. Plays with knee bend attacking straight up blocks and shows strong hands to stun and separate from blockers. Shows contact balance working against powerful linemen and is effective shedding on the move. Shows short space agility in traffic working downhill reacting to backs picking a crease. Scrapes tight off tackle on plays working outside and squares up ball carriers in the alley. Shows an explosive burst into ball carriers with fundamental tackling skill. Consistent to gather, wrap and drive through tackles. Rarely misses. Coverage experience is limited as, although a starter, he still would rotate out situationally. Played mostly match zone and generally reacts correctly to pattern pressure finding the correct threat. Flashes ability to match backs out of the backfield and mirror route breaks. Some hesitation in coverage occurred versus multiple routes in his area. Questionable long speed to consistently run with fast vertical routes. Occasionally under runs plays working outside. At times goes back door on a climbing blocker and loses his path to the ball. For a player with limited experience he's fairly advanced playing the run and has the upside of at least a two down starter in the NFL. With some refinement he could develop into a full time starter. Has been effective on special teams and should contribute there.
