Three year starter. Honorable mention All-ACC in 2024 and 2025. Transferred from Miami in 2023 after starting for the Hurricanes in 2022. Has imposing size and length to go with power and strength ideal for an interior defender. Often aligned on the center in a 0 technique but also played 1, 2, 2i and occasional 3 techniques. Flashes a quick get off for his size with incredible power engaging blocks. At times shows a quick strike and can stack and shed working to the ball inline. Can knock a blocker back with his initial pop. For the most part, holds the point against double teams. Flashes two gap skill when his pad level is low. When he keeps his feet active and gets his hands inside on a block he can make plays inline. His incredible length is effective to bring down a ball carrier a gap over. Rarely misses a tackle as he can wrap and engulf a ball carrier. Has flashed pass rush potential hitting gaps, but he's more a collapse the pocket pass rusher using a bull rush to create pressure. If free hitting a gap, has some chase skill getting to the quarterback. While solid holding the point, occasionally he gets upright at the snap and stalemated or moved. Lacks consistency with hand usage and running his feet. Too often stalemated and seemed to take a step back in 2025. Flashed his potential in post season all-star practices but needs consistency to be a factor in the NFL. Needs to develop pass rush technique to bring out what looks to be solid potential in that area. Has potential to be the big interior defender teams covet, but will need to develop to be more than a space eater.
