2026 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about AUSTIN BARBER:
Florida | Hometown: Jacksonville, FL | HT: 6066 | WT: 317 | 40 time: 5.12 | Hand: 0958 | Arm: 3334 | Wing: 8138
Three year starter. Third-team All-SEC last season. Has emerged as a skilled offensive lineman who can play either tackle spot. With exceptional arm length, he has excellent hands and punch-timing. Once his hands lock up the defender he will move him to where he doesn't want to go. Explosive first step and good leverage. He is a feisty finisher. You get no time off when competing against Barber. Has an excellent first step and his great feet allow him to beat the defender to the spot in the zone scheme. Finds where the linebackers are going and beats them to the spot. Can block in space. Has top quality anchor strength. Good size and reach. Is capable of consistently kicking out the edge. Has the physical intangibles to be a success at the next level. Needs to continue to work on pad level and to continue to work on his overall strength to match his excellent technique. Struggles with speed guys. Can widen his base which will help his overall balance. Needs to work on knee bend to help him with his anchor. Overall he is a lunch pail player with an extensive SEC background. That said, he struggled against the top tier talent in the conference. He is equally developed in both aspects of the run and pass game but still needs to develop his upside. His experience in a zone blocking scheme will be an immediate help at the next level. Could be a solid mid-round pick but upside could get him taken higher.
