Ourlads' Profile:
2026 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TED HURST:
Georgia State | Hometown: Savannah, GA | HT: 6034 | WT: 207 | 40 time: 4.42 | Hand: 0912 | Arm: 3238 | Wing: 7914
Three-year starter. Spent two seasons at Valdosta State prior to transferring to Georgia State in 2024. Hurst is a vertical weapon who has both the size and speed to strike fear into a secondary. No receiver was targeted 20+ yards downfield more than he was since the start of 2024. Those 64 targets resulted in 27 catches, also number one in the nation. While he hits the rare combination of triangle numbers (height/weight/speed), there is a sense of rawness to his skill set. There are limitations to his skill set but there are traits worth trying to develop. The debates will be his work ethic, quality of coaching, and patience. He is the classic high ceiling/low floor gamble who has the peak of being a credible deep threat with gamebreaking talent but also enters the league with a one-trick-pony type label. Long and strong frame with above average-sized hands. Plays strong against contact with a level of sturdiness to factor in contested situations. Adept at tracking the ball and timing his extension and leaps for the ball. Immediate deep threat who can win with size and/or strength. Has improved his ability to abruptly stop and come back to the ball. Ran a very limited route tree and there are concerns with his lateral movement traits. Does not sell false breaks in his route. Separation will not come easy. Does not have sudden change of direction traits to make a lot happen with the ball. Drops over the middle were too frequent when defenders were coming down on him.
2025 Stats: 71-1004, 14.1 ypr, 6 TD. OSR:11/37. VJ-36.5. Draft projection: 4th/5th round
