Two year starter. Third-team All-Big 12 in 2025. Thick frame with long arms, big hands and height. Ideal size for a nose tackle with upper and lower body power. Primarily a 0 technique but also played 1 and 3. Plays with a hot motor and keeps working to get off blocks. Quick at the snap, he can be explosive attacking blockers with strong hands and ability to stun and separate from interior blockers. Consistently holds the point against single blocks and double teams. Plays stout as a two gap player and owns both A gaps. Gets off blocks with a powerful punch along with running his feet to get ball side leverage. Long arms are useful getting in on plays a gap over. He's been tough to reach on combo and zone blocks and can keep climbing blockers off linebackers. Has been effective with a club into an arm over to escape while playing into a gap. Second effort allows him to recover on angle blocks and redirect back into the play. Has flashed a spin move to recover if blocked. His quickness is useful penetrating on slant moves and he can disrupt blocking schemes. Has made some plays in the backfield on gap moves. Plays to the whistle and will chase outside. As a pass rusher, uses a bull rush and flashes hand swipes to get free. Has not been productive as a pass rusher and needs to develop consistent technique. He tends to get upright trying to run a move. Needs to focus on pad level more as a pass rusher as he is too easily stalemated at this point. As a rotational run stuffer he should make an excellent pro. With his natural quickness he should develop pass rush technique. His floor is a solid 3-4 nose tackle.
