Three year starter. Second team All-ACC in 2025. Nephew of NFL Hall of Famer, Merlin Olsen. Has the height and weight to play attached in the NFL but has marginal length. Has aligned at Y, H and some fullback. High effort player with the intangibles to succeed at the next level. Among the best inline blocking tight ends in this draft. Comes off the line with a flat back and knee bend attacking defenders. Has a wide base and squares up blocks. Can get movement with his big body and is effective sealing on the edge. Works well in combination with tackles and can come off combo blocks to get to the second level. Will work hard to move the defender out, keeping his pad level and feet moving. Shows a quick release and runs well on vertical routes. Shields defenders with his body and is effective on short over the middle throws. Decent short area route runner moving in and out of breaks. Needs to work on an aiming point with his long- armed punch. Has collected his share of flags during his career mostly holding. Needs to catch the ball with more consistency and battle on contested catches. Has stiff hands and needs to soften up. Lack of catch radius shows tracking balls outside his frame. Has played in a system with limited routes. Tends to get higher pads as the game goes on. Gets over his toes blocking at times causing him to be front heavy. He's unique in this tight end class as one of a few blocking first tight ends. Should find a home on a team playing a lot of 12 personnel.
