Four-year starter. Third-team All-America this past season. Experienced leader of the defense who typically aligns either at deep safety or overhang. Tall, slender frame with a light torso and noticeable length. Excellent athletic profile that flashes all over the field. Fluid hips and excellent agility to glide around the field on ice skates. Patient when diagnosing run/pass and recognizes route concepts especially well from underneath. Elite explosiveness to fire downhill in an instant to fill gaps in the box and drive on underneath routes. Violent collision when taking on blockers in the run game to squeeze lanes and close space on the ball carrier quicker. Notable lateral agility to scrape tight, leverage, and meet ball carriers at the line-of-scrimmage. Excellent at working his way around bodies in the box to locate the running back. Unafraid of contact and will fly full speed into ball carriers like a train to finish all over the field. Runs his feet on contact with proper wrap-up to tackle in space and in the trenches. Considerable range to take away a large portion of the field in both one-high and two-high coverages. Jams receivers with violence when given the opportunity, and can match tight ends downfield.
