Two year starter. First-team All-SEC and unanimous All-American. Awarded the John Mackey Award and William V. Campbell Trophy in 2025. Has played only three years at tight end, starting as a quarterback at Texas A&M in 2021-22. Transferred to New Mexico State in 2023 and switched to tight end all the time developing his body from 209-240. Transferred to Vanderbilt where he became a starter. A great all-around athlete, he continues to polish his skills as a tight end. His flat-out speed is top shelf. Displays great hands as a receiver, and being a former seven-foot high jumper helps all matchups. His knowledge of the game as a former collegiate quarterback helps tremendously. A short yardage gem, with down the field speed and run after catch Needs to work on his anchor ability. Accelerates in and out of breaks with explosive movements and body control to adjust to off target throws. Soft hands to go with a huge catch radius. Dangerous yards after catch runner showing agility in traffic and another gear in space. Shows a good ability to stalk block defenders when lined up in the slot. Can block targets in space. His lack of functional bulk has worked against him in anchoring the line in the past, but is a continuing work in progress. But currently, run blocking is an issue. Needs to be a more deceptive route runner. In today's multiple tight end sets, he's one teams will be looking at. An ideal slot tight end who shouldn't play much attached, he's a solid fit in a pass offense. Having only played tight end for three seasons, Stowers is a very intriguing pick with upside.
