One year starter. Transfer from North Carolina State in 2025. Has desired length for a corner along a physical presence. Was a part time player at NC State before earning a starting spot in the spring at South Carolina. Has experience in several man to man concepts along with outside zone concepts including quarters. Excellent footwork, he's skilled playing both hard and reactive press changing up technique. Flashes an off and two hand jam to disrupt the release. Shows a stiff off hand jam on outside releases. Can be extremely sticky in trail technique changing speeds and maintaining interval. Has solid mirror skills with a burst coming off flipping his hips to cut off route breaks. In off coverage uses both pedal and catch technique with smooth turn and run. Has the speed to stay in phase on deep routes. If separated, can quickly recover back in position. As a zone defender is quick to read run/pass and can be a factor in the run game. Flashes tackling skill including an occasional explosive hit on a hitch screen. Solid attacking the catch point on underneath throws he has shown some playmaking skill. Has some problems in zone coverage as he can be late reacting to route combinations. Plant and drive with the ball in the air is inconsistent and he can be a step slow closing. Ball production has suffered as a result. Will often fail to wrap up on tackles and will miss in space. He will occasionally be too eager to open up or get into lateral run on vertical release and get separated. Recovery ability is often tested as a result. Loses leverage at times and gives up easy completions. Has shown he can do most things well, but still needs some development to realize his upside.
