Two year starter. Transferred from West Virginia where he was a starter as a redshirt freshman in 2024. Consensus first-team All-SEC in 2025. He's the son of former Eagle Jeremiah Trotter and brother of current Eagle Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Has ideal size for an NFL Mike with a powerful upper and lower body. Plays with a hot motor and chases to the whistle. Excellent inside run fits, he quickly gets downhill and can beat a blocker to the gap on his read. His quick key diagnose is exceptional. Lateral agility shows up reacting to cutbacks exchanging gaps. Strong upper body and power shows when attacking blocks. Strong hands and knee bend allow him to stack and shed bigger offensive linemen. Can get off a block and make a play on a ball carrier at the line of scrimmage. Slips or sheds blocks well on the move. Solid lateral movement to make plays along the line to the alley. Very good gather, wrap and drive tackling skill. Can meet a ball carrier in the hole or alley and drop him in his tracks. Has been effective in zone coverage getting depth in his drop and reading the delivery key. Has improved his ability to find the throwing lane reacting to route concepts. Playing man coverage his agility allows him to match backs in a short space on underneath releases. Has good quickness, but at times he lacks sustained speed to chase to the perimeter or cover a speedy back up the field. Needs work on the nuances of zone coverage as he can be a little hesitant against multiple routes. Has shown promise with the tools to develop. He's NFL ready as a run defender and will fit a team looking for a run stuffing Mike linebacker.
