Two year starter. First-team All-Big 10 in 2025. Physical player with good size and length for an edge defender. Aligns most often in a two point stance in a wide 9. In some situations he's moved to 4 or 4i. Occasionally puts his hand on the ground in a three point with inside hand down and inside foot back. Above average quickness at the snap, especially with his hand in the dirt. Engages blockers with quick strong hands and knee bend. Holds the point consistently against bigger blockers. Has range in pursuit and flashes chase ability. He's adept at inside stunts and can create havoc in the backfield. Has been a productive pass rusher getting sacks and pressures. He uses long arms and power to control blockers. Has an effective bull rush as a go to move and can collapse the pocket using an arm under to get free. Shows out to in and in to out moves as counters. Has an incredible burst once he's free to get to quarterbacks. Has very good tackling skill with powerful knee bend to strike, wrap and drive. Hand usage in the pass rush is inconsistent, causing his rush to stall if he doesn't separate with the first move. At times just pushing while getting stalemated. Against edge running plays can be slow to shed staying on blocks too long at times. Doesn't always show energetic pursuit chasing outside runs. Bend around the corner is average and can be too upright squeezing to the quarterback. His best trait is as a pass rusher and should fit as a rotational edge defender in the NFL.
2025 Stats: 30 T, 10.5 TFL, 10 sacks, 3 PBU, 3 QBH, 2 FF. Draft projection: 2nd/3rd round
