Two year starter. Transfer from Bowling Green in 2024. In his first year as a full time starter at Texas A&M was a unanimous All-American, SEC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-SEC. Well proportioned solid frame with less than ideal length. He primarily aligned in a wide 9 in a two point stance but would occasionally align as a 5 technique with his hand in the dirt. Normally quick at the snap he plays with a hot motor and uses a powerful punch to stun and separate from blocks. Sets the edge getting under blocks and shedding on the move. Has the agility to work inside or outside coming off a block or reacting in space. Excellent chase ability coming off the backside with the speed to run down ball carriers across the field. He's also effective in coverage, peeling on a back or dropping to the flat. Has shown effectiveness getting in the throwing lane. Solid fundamental wrap and drive tackling skill to make plays along the line or in space. As a pass rusher has a variety of ways to get to the quarterback, including an arm under off a swipe or bull rush and various chops and swipes. Very quick with hands attacking along with bend at the top of the rush to turn the corner. Flashes a quick out to in counter along with a spin move. Powerful enough to bull rush along with showing speed to power. He's had an occasional false step at the snap, but has worked hard to eliminate that and improved as the season progressed. Has had some struggles against powerful offensive tackles playing the run. At times will lose contain in the pass rush by taking an inside path. He should excel as a 3-4 outside backer but could fit in any scheme as a rotational pass rusher.
