2026 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about COLTON HOOD:

Tennessee | Hometown: McDonough, GA | HT: 5115 | WT: 193 | 40 time: 4.44 | Hand: 0900 | Arm: 3138 | Wing: 7478

Two year starter. Second-team All-SEC in 2025. Has played at three schools in his three years in college. He red-shirted at Auburn in 2023 and was a starter at Colorado in 2024. Transferred to Tennessee in 2025 and made an immediate impact, helping offset the loss of injured Jermod McCoy. Hood is a well put together corner with decent height and length. Has played a wide variety of coverage including off and press man along with zone concepts quarters, and Cover 3 and 2. Playing press man he flashes a two hand jam that can disrupt the route. Occasionally shows an off-hand jam. He can be very sticky in trail technique and shows loose hips reacting to double moves. He's adept at playing the hands in man coverage as he keeps his focus on the receiver. In off coverage he normally shows a smooth pedal and changes speeds to maintain cushion. Normally shows patience to alter his pace to stay in phase. Has a smooth turn and run and can mirror throughout the route tree. If separated on a route break, he is quick to recover. As a zone defender he shows vision to see and balance multiple threats. Excellent closing speed close to voids between zones. Can cover a lot of ground balancing routes. At his best in Cover 2 rerouting and getting under intermediate routes and breaking on short underneath throws to the flat. Excellent ball skills, he is explosive breaking with the ball in the air and gets his hands to the catch point. Flashes tackling skill but tends to lunge at tackles rather than wrap and drive. Can be too physical and is prone to penalties. He could be more reactive in press using an off-hand jam more. He needs some development but he has top-notch tools.

2025 Stats: 50 T, 4.5 TFL, 8 PBU, 1 FF, 1 INT (1 TD). OSR:11/23. VJ-40.5. Draft projection: 1st/2nd round
