2026 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KAYDEN MCDONALD:
Ohio State | Hometown: Suwanee, GA | HT: 6022 | WT: 327 | 40 time: 5.20 | Hand: 1000 | Arm: 3238 | Wing: 7812
Two year starter. First-team All-Big 10 and unanimous All-American in 2025. McDonald has ideal size with a thick upper body and huge legs which provide a powerful base holding the point. Has played from a 0 to a 3 technique with his best work coming as a nose tackle. Quick at the snap he can engage blockers with powerful hands. With a good pad level he can forklift blockers and make plays on the line of scrimmage. Shows decent quickness hitting a gap and has made several plays in the backfield. He's quick enough to avoid getting reached and can recover against angle blocks. His power allows him to play two gap by controlling a blocker and locating the ball. Gets separation and keeps his feet moving allowing a two way go off a block. Plays run at him rarely gain more than a yard. Flashes lateral movement to make plays beyond initial alignment. His mauling inline tackling ability allows no yards after contact and he rarely loses a tackle. Has pass rush potential and can collapse a pocket with a bull rush. Flashes a bull rush into a club move to get free. Hasn't provided a lot as a pass rusher as he tends to pop and stop if he doesn't get separation immediately. Lacks sustained speed beyond his initial quickness and the motor slows down at times. His pad level is inconsistent as he can get upright at the snap and neutralized. Seems to run out of gas at times and become little more than a space eater. At his best he shows the talent of a superior interior defender with pass rush potential to go with elite ability to stuff the run. Should fit well with a team that uses an odd front as a base.
