Three year starter. Third-team All-SEC. Mobile and very athletic with a solid well-proportioned frame. Can be plugged in at any offensive line position, although guard is his most comfortable spot. As a freshman he split time between right tackle and right guard over 13 games. After an injury prone sophomore season, he settled in at left guard. Has displayed good knee bend and quick accurate hand placement. Coordinates hand and footwork, keeping his feet active after initial contact. His footwork and mobility shows particularly on reach blocks and climbing to the second level. His lateral quickness is excellent as is his smoothness to the aiming point. Plays consistently with a nasty edge. Flashes ability to gather and explode into blocks to drive defenders off the ball. In pass protection normally keeps his feet moving in his punch and mirror and is effective using hands to knock swipe moves away. He tends to be a leaner and not get his weight back to lower his anchor. Will lunge at times and has to work on consistency, sinking his hips to help him root out the defensive lineman. Lack of ideal length creates a need for optimal technique. He needs to be consistent with his aiming point within the offensive scheme. Will need to continue to develop through coaching. Must continue to develop his solid pass blocking foundation and foot quickness in mirroring the defender. Being the sixth man in a rotation wouldn't be so far-fetched for this talented prospect. Has potential to develop into a next level starter.
