Three year starter. Started in 32 games in his Penn State career. Earned many accolades in his career, including first-team All-America and first-team All-Big 10 this past season. Considered by many as the number one prospect as an interior offensive lineman. This big, durable guard never took a back seat to the work at hand. Physically has a nearly perfect frame for a next level guard. On the field, nasty in nature, he helped lead the Penn State running backs to career seasons. Consistent and steady, he sets a deep anchor to the inside on pass protection and tends to make defenders run in place. Generally keeps the quarterback untouched in the pocket behind him. Has played against the best competition and appears seasoned and ready. Has violent hands, once he clamps the defender down there's no escape. Has good chopping feet. Shows good football IQ in recognizing line tricks and blitzes the defense might attempt. Plays a relatively clean game with little to no penalties within his body of work. Pass protection is his calling card, not that run blocking isn't, however it can always use improvement. Needs to work on his quickness when climbing up to linebackers. Like most, needs to concentrate on pad level against the next level behemoths. Needs to trust his hands at the aiming point. Continued development of quickness is a need. Will need to make the jump at the next level, a need for any top draft choice. Will need to meet the challenge of being considered among the best. Some will not consider him an elite athlete, but it is evident that he is a roll up your sleeves player with blue collar talent. An early pick, has all the characteristics to become a first-year starter and an all pro performer. A plug and play performer.
