Two-year starter. Earned 2025 All-American honors. Long, wiry frame that can play to both a strong and finesse-type style. Tate is the next man up among a group of Buckeye playmakers who have thrived under position coach Brian Hartline who recruited and developed five different first round receivers. Tate's career began with more production than all of them. The possession receiver with a refined skill set has an elite trait that has the ability to be an excellent number two receiver who can fill the role of safety net and sneaky downfield weapon. He is a reliable playmaker who creates via ball skills and body control and would be an outstanding number two option in a strong NFL passing game. Body control and ball tracking in addition to elite ball skills (zero drops in 2025) make him a reliable weapon all over the route tree. Gets in and out of his breaks efficiently. Light on his feet with constant potential to alter his weight without false steps. Brings the movement traits to getting open and meshes them with an uncanny ability to deceive defensive backs. High catch rate in traffic stemming from coordination and toughness. Does not have the final gear to constantly get over the top. A near-non factor after the catch as he lacks power and vision with the ball. Too often goes down on initial contact. Needs to come back to the ball more aggressively. Rarely tested against press coverage.
