Four-year starter. Second-team All-Big 10 in 2024, honorable mention in 2023. Highly experienced cornerback with 49 career college games under his belt. Lots of experience outside, but best utilized in the slot at the next level. Undersized cornerback prospect with solid weight and marginal arm length. Patient on the release with square hips and quick choppy feet. Plays his best in man coverage with technique and eye discipline to carry receivers around the field. On go routes he leans into receivers on the sideline to constrict space and look back for the ball. Excellent baseball turns on double moves to stay overtop of the receiver and in-phase. In zone coverage he is quick to trigger on routes underneath him and unafraid of contact to disrupt the catch. Plays the low shoulder of the receiver in man to come away with picks and breakups. Extensive experience getting his hands on the ball with seven interceptions and 34 breakups in his career. Quick feet with notable agility to squeeze into the box and make an impact in run support on the interior. Willing to fill the alley and tackles low to bring down ball carriers. Some tightness in his lower body to turn and run with receivers when pressed. Construction cone underneath in zone coverage who does little to jam the receiver, and lacks feel to take away routes behind him with positioning. Lacks explosiveness in transition. Bigger receivers can box him out and win contested catches. Some difficulties getting off of blocks. Needs more consistency when tackling; flashes proper form but does not demonstrate it regularly.
2024 Stats: 42 T, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 10 PBU, 1 QBH, 2 INT (1 TD). OSR:7/25. Draft projection: 6th-7th round
