Three year starter. Second team All Big 10 in 2023. First team All-Big 10, AP third team All-America and Big 10 Offensive Lineman of the Year this past year. Saw limited playing time his first two seasons, but started 38 games over his career. Prototypical body type for the next level. This big, thick barrel-chested man is mobile, with good feet and a good motor, he’s always looking for “work”. Very competitive. Will drive the head of the opponent off the ball with a good punch behind his frame. Plays with a nasty disposition. Will jar the defender with his good stiff punch. Has shown a good base and balance in his run blocking. Excellent movement in zone scheme, slips up to the second level with strength. Very powerful when the defender is squared up on him. Coming off of a good Combine where he ran well and showed good strength. Sometimes inconsistent in pass protection with a real strength in run blocking. Can get sloppy sometimes by overstepping to the playside. Will sometimes get a little high in his pass blocking. While he has a good upper body punch, he needs to bring his feet with him. Needs to work on getting lower and bending his knees. Has to consistently work on “clamping” the defender with his long arms and strong hands. Overall an excellent prospect at the next level, particularly with his run blocking ability and upside in pass protection. Still a work in progress. Should be a top 100 pick with NFL starting left tackle potential.
