Four-year starter, Lilburn, GA. Honorable mention All-ACC in each of the past two seasons. Fits best as a 0-tech in a two-gap scheme. A powerful nose tackle who plays his best when head-up with offensive linemen. Great lower body strength helps him anchor down, and he will give up minimal ground versus solo blocks. Shows a sturdy anchor and will rarely be driven off the line by double teams. Will leverage his gaps using his big frame and lower body strength to hold a point and will meet the running back in the hole. Shows solid athletic ability in stunts, as he uses quick feet and explosiveness to shift gaps effectively. Plays with a high motor and wants to affect every play. Effort and desire to make an impact in pursuit. Struggles to create extension and separate from offensive linemen. Versus down blocks and zone blocking schemes, can be washed out of the play as he struggles to turn his pads and take blockers head-on. He ends up on the ground due to fringe contact balance. He will need to come off the field on passing downs as he provides no value as a pass rusher; he will stall out at the point-of-attack and cannot collapse the pocket.
2022 Stats: 19 T, 1 TFL. 7th round/PFA.
