Louisville | H: 5102 W: 181 40: 4.42 A: 2958 H: 0814 W: 7238
Junior entry, three year starter, Richmond, VA. Transferred from Liberty in 2020 after being a part time starter there in 2019. Third team All-ACC in 2022. Undersized but athletic corner with extreme twitch. Recovered from an ACL injury late in 2021 to resume his starting role last season. Has experience as an outside corner along with significant time as a slot corner in 2022. Used in press and off man along with zone concepts. Has some hard corner experience. In off coverage has a quick pedal with occasionally showing a catch technique. He has remarkable anticipation skills with over the top mirror ability. Extremely sticky on route breaks with ability to undercut a receiver at any point during the pattern. Easily turns and runs to stay in phase up the field. In press man rarely gives up leverage either in reactive press or flashing a jam to disrupt the release. As a zone defender processes route combinations and has a knack for closing voids in overlapping zones. Sudden break on the ball he’s adept at reading the delivery key and getting to the catch point. As a slot corner has been used effectively to blitz with the ability to outrun a block and close on the quarterback. Willing run defender he launches into tackles and can wrap and drive. Lack of length shows up tackling as a powerful ball carrier can run through him. This also shows battling at the catch point as he struggles with 50/50 balls. Tall, strong receivers can give him problems even if in phase. Has an outstanding skill set but will have to play in a scheme that creates positive matchups.
