Three year starter, Snellville, GA. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2022. Was a starter as a freshman and didn’t break the starting lineup again until his last two seasons. An improving player he has outstanding stature and length for an outside corner. Has played multiple coverage and technique with experience in off and press man along with deep outside zone and hard corner cover two. As a press corner is mostly reactive but will show an off hand jam on outside releases. Can ride a receiver to the sideline and turn to stay in phase. Has the speed to run with deep vertical routes. Excellent footwork to mirror release and route breaks. As a hard corner is adept at rerouting and sinking under intermediate throws. In off coverage shows a smooth pedal changing speed and path to maintain cushion and leverage. Can undercut routes on the break to close the throwing window. As a zone defender has solid vision to see the delivery key and position on multiple routes. Flashes quick plant and drive on underneath throws. Excellent in run support he can chase across the field and is a secure wrap up tackler. Flashes ball skills and can get to the high point. Has missed some opportunities locating the ball in phase. There is some segmentation in his transitions and he can lose a step as a result. Can get separated at times and lose the receiver on a double move. This can also put him in recovery mode turning on a vertical route. Fortunately he has recovery speed. He is still somewhat developmental but the tools and upside are there. Some may look at him as a safety with his style of play.
