Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about RICHARD LECOUNTE: Georgia, 5114 192 4.79. Three year starter, Riceboro, GA. Missed four games due to a traffic accident but returned at the end of the season to start five games. A little undersized for a safety but makes up for it with instinctive play and a nose for the football. Has the versatility to play one high or close to the line. Quick to diagnose run/pass he gets downhill in the run game making plays close to the line. Takes precise angles and can get through traffic to find the ball. Very agile and can make plays in space-around the ball a lot. An efficient wrap tackler. As a zone defender shows a knack for squeezing routes in zones and reading the quarterback delivery key. Has been productive against the pass with interceptions and pass breaks due to his quick reactions with the ball in the air. Plays the short zones well when in the box and can undercut intermediate routes playing the flat. As a match defender he mirrors well in a short space. Has trouble as the play is extended and is prone to biting on double moves. Showed some improvement late in the season. Lack of length shows trying to recover and break up a pass in a deep zone. He has to be right as his recovery ability is limited. At times takes the brunt of the blow when tackling and can give up yards after contact. There has been an occasional miss. He has special team skill and has been solid when asked to cover kicks. Has the ability of an NFL safety in the right scheme. Will contribute on special teams. Lack of length may affect his draft status. 2020 stats; 26 T, 1 TFL, 4 PBU, 3 INT. Sixth/ seventh round. (A-31 5/8, H-9, VJ-32.5, SS-4.49).
