Uses his hands to separate from blockers and is consistent in his ability to shed and get to the ball. Normally fits and takes good angles in pursuit. A physical tackler who finishes. Takes good pass drops in pattern read zone doing a good job rerouting receivers and settling in a zone. Has a burst in pass rush with a clear path to the quarterback. When playing over a tight end he does a good job controlling the blocker with a quick punch, separate and shed. A very productive linebacker on a great defense. Makes a lot of tackles and is very good from tackle-to-tackle moving downhill. A tough hitter who has a knack for the big play. Not as good in coverage but is at least competent in his drops.
